The 2019 National Science and Maths Quiz which is yet to kick off in a few days’ time is set to await a lot of surprises and interesting packages as new senior high schools are introduced into the competition kicking out the self-acclaimed Giants in the competition.
The National Science and Math Quiz which is a competition organized for senior High Schools across Ghana where Science and Maths Intellects compete for the best school to take home the amazing prizes available.
This year will get more interesting as new category of competitors named the “Giant Slayers” get through the race by hurling out some of the schools who have been winning and been in the race for some time now called the “Giants”.
Nana Akua Asare CEO of Prime time, one of the sponsors for this year’s competition in an interview with the media said, “so you have a school like Frafraha community Senior High School taking out Accra High School and this was their first time in the competition.” Assin State also took Aggrey Memorial Out and other news schools making their way through in the competition though it their first time to the Nationals.
She further urged Ghanaians to look forward to a lot of surprises and also rewards for the Competitors as there is a new scheme of reward in monetary form for competitors who get a Perfect score of 10 in the NSMQ cue star also known as “the problem of the day” in the competition.
She said this monetary reward is to encourage students to excel more in the race and which will also serve as a form of take home package for schools who may not make it to the next stage in the competition.
