Oderfuo Qwasi Kay is best morning show host in Ashanti

In a back to back fashion, Oderfuo Nhyiraba Qwasi Kay, morning show host of Ashh FM last weekend won the covetous accolade as best morning show host of the year award in Ashanti.

Winning same award last year, the smooth talker of Ashh 101.1 fm now joins in the fray of the few show hosts who have done so since the Foklex Media Awards commenced.

Born Ishmael Gyamfi but known in media circles as Nhyiraba Oderfuo Qwasi Kay, the show host started his radio work at Virgin City Radio in Konongo where he spent five and half years.

Hosting different programs at Virgin City including gospel music programs and mid morning shows Oderfuo has turned out well as a political show host at Ashh fm, his current place of work.

Having joined Kings Radio at Agogo from Virgin City as joint show host for their drive time program, Oderfuo later became the substantive host for the midmorning show.

EXPLOITS:

Joining Kencity Media in Kumasi in the year 2015 as the morning show host for the program National Agenda, Oderfuo has become a household name in Kumasi.

Even though Ashh fm is owned by Kennedy Agyepong, a businessman and politician the morning show host combines objectivity and research into his affairs.

With a silky voice and humor laden attitude, the radio show host gets his followers and listeners glued to the 101.1 dial from 6am to 10am from Monday to Friday.

Providing his platform to personalities in authority as well as institutional heads in educating the public on pertinent issues, Oderfuo Qwasi Kay also fishes for feedback for his listeners anytime they need clarification.

ADVICE :

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper on his award, Oderfuo said he was grateful for the honor bestowed on his person by Foklex Media Consult.

He thanked God that from such humble beginnings he had risen to win the accolade as best morning show host on two occasions.

The show host urged the youth and upcoming media persons to bid their time wherever they are and put in much effort in what they do best.

He noted that there are silent observers in every field of work and when the time is ripe those who do well will be recognized.
