The scramble to sign Ghana youngster Jordan Ayew from Sochaux on loan (Olympic Marseille) is heating up with the news that French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon have now entered into the race of clubs interested in the attacker.
Lyon President Jean Michel-Aulas, who has being a strong admirer of Ayew, has revealed that he was impressed with the performance of the 22-year-old during his loan stint at Sochaux in the second round of the Ligue 1.
The Stade Gerland side are therefore set to to table a bid for the Ghana World Cup striker.
Though Jean Michel-Aulas’ has revealed his interest in signing the son of the legendary Abedi Ayew Pele, Lyon Coach Hubert Fournier stated at a press conference that,
“Jordan Ayew is a good player with good skills, but there is no contact with the player or his agent,” meaning the club is yet to make an offer for the Ghanaian.
The latest report means Olympique Lyon will be in contention with Saint Etienne, OGC Nice and Lille for the signature of Jordan Ayew.
Ayew scored an impressive hatrick in Ghana’s warm up friendly against South Korea in Miami earlier this month.
