One million votes for NDC plus 10 parliamentary seats in Ashanti is a must-NDC Youth wing

armani-sidiThe NDC youth wing in the Ashanti region is now more resolved than ever in its quest to attain a million votes and ten parliamentary seats within the Ashanti region.

This forms one of their declarations after their 3-day strategic workshop targeted at empowering the youth to achieve the NDC’s Ashanti votes target.

The youth wing also believes the landmark workshop has and will continue to improve comradeship within the rank and file of the Ashanti NDC youth.

In a communique issued at the end of the event, Ashanti NDC youth organizer; Brogya Genfi stated that the youth is better armed to showcase the massive infrastructural development of the NDC government.

He tells rawgist.com the event was a resounding success and will be replicated at the various constituencies as part of measures to train the party’s grassroots campaigners towards election 2016 and the regions 1 million votes target.

▷ As youth leaders and focal persons at the constituency levels, we shall resort to dialogue in addressing grievances through the party structures in order to safeguard the electoral fortunes of the party

▷ The massive monumental infrastructural development across the region in all sectors have energized us as leaders and focal persons to embark on “house to house” outreach campaign program within the region

▷ Since independence to date, the 2012 voters register is the most accurate, credible and reliable register and we must work to protect it.

▷ Ensure absolute unity and comradeship within our rank and file through the mobilization of all former and current party and government officials as well as leading party activists to make operation one million votes a reality in Ashanti region.

▷ Discipline, orderliness, respect for the elderly and personal integrity are values and cherished norms that will make a party attractive and appealing to the voter.

JOINT DECLARATION BY THE NDC YOUTH WING – ASHANTI TOWARDS THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF OPERATION ONE MILLION VOTES AGENDA

(PSUC – DECLARATION)
A declaration of the just ended 3 – day Ashanti Regional Youth capacity building workshop which commenced on 31st July – 2nd August, 2015 under the theme:
“Empowering the Youth Wing for a Successful Implementation of Operation One Million Votes in Election 2016”.

The workshop which was largely comprised of representatives
of the major stakeholders in Ashanti NDC namely:

▷ Constituency Youth Organizers and Deputies
▷ Regional Youth Working Committee Members and Patrons
▷ Leadership of the Party at the Regional level
▷ Leadership of the Party at the National level
▷ Ministers of states and government officials from the Region and beyond

Having been equipped with the necessary leadership skills and operational strategies to boost our influence as leaders and focal persons in grass root political mobilization, met at the auditorium of the Public Service Union Centre in Kumasi to:

• Discuss strategies to empower the youth wing for successful implementation of operation one million votes in election 2016

• Craft innovative ways and alternative means of organizing and resourcing the grass roots by empowering them with the needed skills and strategies for the successful implementation of operation one million votes.

• Make recommendations to the government based on feedback from the implementation of government programs, projects and policies.

• Showcase the massive infrastructural development the NDC party in government under the inspirational leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

Observations
1. Agitations from the youth wing at the various constituency levels against party and government officials does not make the party attractive and appealing to the electorates.

  1. The NDC government from the Jerry John Rawlins regime, through Prof. John Evans Atta Mills to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s administration has bequeath Asanteman with massive monumental infrastructural developments in education, health, electricity, water, roads, sanitation markets etc which has boosted the socio-cultural and economic advancement of Asanteman.

  2. The 2012 voters register is the most credible and reliable voters’ register Ghana has ever produced.

  3. Unity and discipline among the youth is key in making operation one million votes a reality.

  4. Operation one million votes is achievable.

  5. It is possible to increase our parliamentary seats to a minimum of ten (10) seats in 2016 elections

Declaration
In view of the foregoing, we the stake holders within the party and government jointly declared that:

▷ As youth leaders and focal persons at the constituency levels, we shall resort to dialogue in addressing grievances through the party structures in order to safeguard the electoral fortunes of the party

▷ The massive monumental infrastructural development across the region in all sectors have energized us as leaders and focal persons to embark on “house to house” outreach campaign program within the region

▷ Since independence to date, the 2012 voters register is the most accurate, credible and reliable register and we must work to protect it.

▷ Ensure absolute unity and comradeship within our rank and file through the mobilization of all former and current party and government officials as well as leading party activists to make operation one million votes a reality in Ashanti region.

▷ Discipline, orderliness, respect for the elderly and personal integrity are values and cherished norms that will make a party attractive and appealing to the voter.

▷ We shall replicate this workshop at our various constituency and branches to energize the grass root to work harder towards the objective of achieving one million votes in Ashanti region.

▷ We shall certainly obtain a minimum of one million votes in the 2016 presidential elections and obtain ten (10) parliamentary seat since the NDC has become attractive to the youth of Ashanti region.
