Only Qualified Persons Should Work At Pharmacy Shops-Dr Nicodemus Tsogbe Asserts

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Ideal Health Assistant Training Centre, Dr Nicodemus Tsogbe has appealed to pharmacy shop owners to employ qualified personnel to man their facilities.
He noted that the prescription and dispensing of medication was a serious and sensitive enterprise.
Addressing the 3rd graduation ceremony of the school in Kumasi, the CEO urged stakeholders including the Pharmacy Council to take particular interest in persons who are recruited by these shop owners and businesses to dispense medication.
“I think it has reached a point where we must ask the qualification of persons who are at Pharmacy shops just as it happens in the United Kingdom (UK) so we know the kind of persons we will be dealing with so we get the right medication when we visit to buy medicines”, the CEO and Pharmacist stated.
Advice:
Dr Tsogbe asked the 27 persons who were passing out of the school to apply the solid training they had received in the discharge of their roles.
He urged them to be diligent at all times and serve people with the knowledge they had acquired in school.
The ideal Health Assistant Training Centre has so far offered training in Pharmacy for over 91 persons since its establishment in 2020 after receiving its certification of operation in 2019.
“We’ve been committed to training our products with quality material and with the right work ethic and it is not surprising that over 3 years now all our graduates have excelled at their work places”, Dr Tsogbe intimated.

The school takes persons who have graduated from Senior High School with the desire to become pharmacists and over the counter attendants as well as health assistants.
Challenges:
The CEO said since establishment in 2020, hostel accommodation has been a major challenge.
Some of the products, the CEO noted having travelled from long distances have had to put up with friends they’ve made at the school and at times tutors.
He therefore asked for support and partnerships from corporate institutions, private citizens and government so they could arrange for accommodation for the products that continue to apply to the school.
