Operation Father Christmas -Deputy Ashanti Regional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Frederick Adu Anim has sent a strong warning to criminals in the Region to either flee and cease their actions or face the wrath of the police.
An operation dubbed ‘Operation Father Christmas’ has thus been launched in the region to declare war on criminals as the police intensify security before, during and after the Christmas season.
DCOP Adu Anim sounded the warning at a short event aimed at making the public aware of the police’s readiness to protect them.
“…we are awake and alive to protect them (the public) against any acts of criminality and our presence is going to scare potential criminals and criminals and for that matter we are in to avert any disaster or any form of criminality”, DCOP Adu Anim stated.
DCOP Adu Anim was however worried about the increasing spate of road accidents in the region.
“Statistics have shown that about 90 percent of the accidents that occur on our roads are due to human error. So the blame is always put on the drivers. So I want to caution drivers to respect traffic regulations”, he said.
While cautioning his men to be professional in the discharge of their duties, he also called on the public to provide the police with credible information to help smoke out criminals from the region.
