The Deputy Chief of Staff and aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Oforikrom, Mr Jonny Osei Kofi has fiercely alleged his opponents are defacing posters he has pasted across the constituency.
Addressing the media after filing his nomination forms at the electoral commission (EC), Mr Osei Kofi bemoaned the action of the unidentified persons.
According to him, politics in the country had risen beyond such negative tactics.
He, therefore, wondered why people with different ideology will rather than engage in positive tactics resort to defeatist actions.
POLICE:
The aspiring MP disclosed the issue had been reported to the regional police command.
According to him, it was time to instil discipline in the body politic of the country so as to ensure no other person suffers same as has befallen him.
He stressed his confidence in the police to bring sanity in the way political parties conducted their affairs in the run up to the December polls.
”I am sure if the police apprehend the culprits, I and my NPP brother would be spared the agony of having to spend so much on replacing posters we have already pasted in the constituency”, Mr Osei Kofi intimated.
CHANGE:
Sounding defiant, the deputy chief of staff expressed determination of prosecuting a clean campaign which is aimed at unseating the New Patriotic Party,(NPP).
He stressed that he would be the change the people in the Oforikrom constituency are clamouring for.
”I am in the race to become the change the people can feel in their various communities”, Mr Osei Kofi promised.
He added the motivation of entering the race was to harness the human potential of residents to ensure rapid development for Oforikrom.
