Parliamentary select committee adopts wait and see attitude to KATH missing babies' saga

yieleh-chirehChairman of the parliamentary Select Committee on Health, Joseph Yileh Chireh has called for cool heads in the handling of the Komfo Anokye Hospital missing stillborn babies’ issue. He says the emotional nature of the issue calls for restraint.

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Health visited the Komfo Anokye Hospital for a meeting this week.

The Parliamentarian, who would neither endorse nor criticize the ministry of Health’s handling of the case, said on Kumasi based Ultimate radio that the select committee is observing how matters unfold regarding the case.

He emphasised the committee is not conducting any investigation on the matter, and also shied away from commenting on the ministry of health’s handling of the matter so far.

He also lamented the deplorable conditions prevailing at some sections of the hospital the Committee toured during their visit.

He expressed his disgust with the congestion at the hospital that necessitated newborn babies and their mothers to sleep on the floor at the Hospital .
