Aspiring Ashanti regional NDC chairman; Joseph Yammin says the people of Kumasi are disappointed in Nana Addo and his government.
Mr. Yammin who was speaking on Asempa fm’s Ekosii sen programme explained that despite the high anticipation of a better Ghana that greeted Nana Akufo Addo’s election, the people were not seeing any improvements in their lives.
“Electricity cost is still higher than rent, fuel prices are still high, the cost of cement is still high”, he explained.
Joseph Yammin also spoke about a purported visit of former President John Mahama to the Ashanti region for some secret meeting regarding his possible run for election 2020.
He couldn’t confirm whether former President John Mahama was in Kumasi but questioned what would make John Mahama’s meeting (if any) with people who are not party officers, a secret.
“What makes a meeting of John Mahama and party people secret? Appiah Stadium is not an executive member of NDC. John Mahama doesn’t need to speak to Appiah Stadium if he wants to be endorsed. Daily guide just wants to use Mahama to sell their paper”, he opined.
Joseph Yammin rehashed his support for a JM candidature for the NDC in election 2020, saying “it will be best for NDC if JM decides to come back. In fact, we might force him to come back. But if he declines, we have equally competent people like him to run.”
