People of Kpando mourn with Former President JAK, renew ties
Former President John Agyekum Kufour Sunday rekindled ties with the Chiefs and people of the Akpini Traditional Area, Kpando.
A strong delegation led by the Paramount Chief of the Akpini Traditional Area; Okpekpewuokpe Akpinifia Dagadu IX visited the former President at his Peduase residence to sympathize with him following the passing on of his wife Madam Theresa Kufour.
The former President who could not hide his excitement revealed that he had very strong ties with Okpekpewuokpe Akpinifia Dagadu VII before and during his Presidency. Former President Kufour recounted that they were like brothers.
For his part, Akpinifia Dagadu IX stated that he was there to mourn with him and rekindle the relationship that existed between the former President and his forebear. He lamented that they would have visited much earlier but for the impact of the Akosombo Dam spillage which had affected his folks as well.
Togbui Dagadu IX rehashed that the people of Kpando continue to have very deep affection for the former President and prayed for better health for him.
Mamaga Tsyrawah IV; The Paramount Queen mother of the Have Traditional Area, and also the Vice President of All REGION QUEEN MOTHERS ASSOCIATION was there to share words of encouragement with the Former President. She was accompanied by Nana Asensima the Paramount Queen mother of Apesokubi Traditional Area and Mama Alormenu a Divisional Queen mother of the Vakpo Traditional Area.
Togbui Dagadu IX was accompanied by his chiefs, Queenmothers, Youth and other personalities including Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson (former President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and Executive Chairman of Celltel Networks Ltd), Dr. Ernest Ansah Aculey (Founder of Datalink Institute of Business and Technology), Dr. Eric Amakpa (Medical Doctor and Founder of Royal Hospital, Ho) amongst others.
