The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako says the party is poised for political power, insisting party executives were doing everything possible to ensure it record’s a very famous victory in December.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper in Kumasi, Mr Boasiako disclosed the party has designed a grass-root based campaign policy which is aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the populace for the NPP.
This strategy, the flamboyant chairman noted was working to perfection and indicated the strict adherence to such before the actual polling day on December 7th, 2016.
He stressed branch, constituency and regional party executives were with eagle eyes watching and working to ensure members reach every home with the message of change.
SEATS:
Mincing no words, the regional chairman mentioned plans to fortify the party’s grip on the Ashanti Region.
According to him, not only were they trying to win 80% of the popular votes in the presidential elections in December but the party was working to ensure it wins all the Forty-Seven(47) parliamentary seats in Ashanti.
He explained the four (4)constituencies they lost to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ashanti, namely, Asawasi, New Edubiase, Ahafo-Ano-North and the Sekyere Afram Plains(Drobonso) was a worry to the party in the Region.
Mr Boasiako, therefore, stressed the party’s resolve to intensify the retail campaign it had embarked on in those areas so as to maximize the NPP’s votes.
UNITY:
The Regional Chairman expressed worry about the decision of some of the party’s members who had filed to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections as independent candidates.
He maintained the issues that occasioned this decision by the party’s former members could have been resolved but stressed all was not lost.
Chairman Wontumi pledged to work behind the scenes with his executives to ensure none of those independent MP aspirants contest on of voting day.
This move, he noted could be used by the party to unify all its members and sympathizers behind the sole candidates the party was presenting across the region.
