Special Advisor to the United Nations Secretary -General Ban Ki-moon and Director of the Earth Institute; Prof. Jeffrey Sachs is in Ghana with a team of experts from two renowned universities in New York for a brainstorming meeting on Unique ID’s for healthcare and eHealth in general in Ghana.
As part of the visit, Prof. Sachs who was also Special Adviser to former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan will meet National Executives of Kuapa Cocoa to discuss possible areas of partnership and collaboration. Some of the expected areas will be in the areas of teleHealth Services for farmers, Agro Business, Climate Change among others.
A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed at the meeting to be held in the Ashanti regional capital.
Prof. Jeffrey Sachs is Co-founder and Chief Strategist of Millenium Promise Alliance, and Director of the Millenium Villages Project. He is also Quetelet Professor of Sustainable Development and Professor of Health Policy and Management at Columbia University. Prof. Sachs played a major role in the formulation of the Millenium Development goals and is the brain behind a lot of the poverty alleviation funds available to Ghana and other parts of the world.
