The ruling National Democratic Congress seem to have started arming itself for Ghana’s next general elections as the top brass of the party spent their weekend ensuring that over 200 youth of the party receive the necessary information they need to obtain at least one million votes for the party in the Ashanti region.
In what has been variously described as the biggest and most successful gathering of NDC leadership within the region, party bigwigs including party Secretary; Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Kofi Adams, Abubakar Sidi, Joseph Yammin among several others took turns empowering the youth on strategies towards election 2016.
Ashanti regional NDC Youth Organizer Brogya Genfi also received praises for the vision and implementation of such an event which participants believe is an absolute necessity towards safeguarding the party’s electoral fortunes.
The 3-day workshop, apart from the primary focus of winning next year elections also discussed other issues of national importance such as the ongoing doctors’ strike, calls for a new voters’ register among others.
The gathering was thrown into a state of ecstatic jubilation when former Deputy Ashanti regional minister; Joseph Yammin surfaced to address the crowd after a news publication hinting his purported resignation from partisan politics.
Joseph Yammin who was obviously touched by the love stated that “like lazarus from the dead”, he has obtained a new found zeal for the party as a result of the love shown him. He however did not touch on the subject of his purported resignation.
