The Progressive People’s Party has rejected the inter ministerial report which exonerated Subah infosolutions of wrongdoings in the execution of their contract to monitor call data records of the telcos and provide the necessary information for purposes of proper taxation.
The I.T. Company which was contracted by the Ghana Revenue Authority is being accused of receiving over 74 million cedis for no work done.
A 14 member technical committee set up to investigate the payment to the private IT firm exonerated it saying the contract was legally awarded and justified the payment.
But this has angered civil society groups and other political pressure groups with many questioning the committee’s report.
At a press conference held in Accra, a Communication Team Member of the PPP, Fredrick Anyan said the payment to SUBAH infosolutions cannot be justified.
Mr. Anyan in an interview with rawgist.com wondered why the government contracted Subah to monitor call data records when there was no legislation forcing the telcos to grant the IT firm access to its data base.
