Put young entrepreneurs in forefront of planning-YPYC

The Young Professionals Youth Coalition has challenged policy makers to put young people at the forefront of planning to ensure total economic  transformation for the youth.

The Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC), is a foundation that seeks to mold the youth into transformational leaders.

YPYC held its 8th Young Professionals’ Transformational Leadership Conference and Young Professional Role Model Awards ceremony on the theme: ‘Mentoring Africa’s young leaders for Africa’s transformation”. The event brought together numerous young professionals and youth from all over the country.

Mr. Andy Osei Okrah, President of the Organization, challenged the young professionals to rise beyond their perceived limitations and make a difference in their generation. He entreated them to become leaders who will champion a transformational agenda for the nation.

Mr Andy Okrah disclosed that, the objective of the conference is to equip the country’s youth with leadership skills and values for rapid nation building.

He observed that, to fulfill the present and future needs of Ghana, young professionals with different mindsets need to be engaged and collaborated with.

As the part of the conference, the president introduced the Young Professionals Role Model Award to recognize individuals and organizations who demonstrate superior leadership both personally and professionally towards national development.

He explained that the goal was to appreciate such role models in order to inspire, motivate and encourage them to continue their exemplary leadership.

Winners of this year’s awards include, Francisca Oteng Mensah (Young Professional Female Role Model), Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray) (Young Professional Male Role Model), Franklin Cudjoe (Young Professional Role Model in Civil Society Leadership), Kingsley Kweku Pinkrah (Young Star Role Model in Youth Empowerment), Dr. Randy Osae Bediako, Hon. Fransisca Oteng and a host of many others.

Hon. Andy Okrah called on Institutions and Corporate Ghana to support the initiative that would help empower young professionals to cause the needed transformation in Africa.

Other Speakers include Dr Olu Ajayi (CEO Maddison Pine United Kingdom), Deputy Minister of Education Hon Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum, Hon Fiifi Kwetey and Mr Emmanuel Adu Sarkodee.
