Residents of Adankwame near Barekese and surrounding communities are living in fear following the escape of four suspected murderers from police cells.
The escapees are believed to be prime suspects of several murder cases in the area.
They were arrested by the Suame Divisional Police Command upon information recieved from the people.
The suspects managed to escape from police cells on Friday 21st November under the watch of two armed officers.
State-owned Daily Graphic reports the two policemen on duty at the time have been given a ten-day period to produce the suspects for trial.
They are alleged to have committed murder at Adankwame in the Atwima Nwanbigya District of the Ashanti Region.
The regional Police Command has given indications it is not taking the matter lightly.
Deputy Regional Commander, ACP Ampofo Duku says the duo will also be referred to police disciplinary committee for further action.
The command assured the people of safety as they are working day and night to re-arrest them.
