Residents of Amamorley a community in the Ga West District of the Greater Accra Region have accused the Member of Parliament for Offinso north constituency Augustine Collins Ntim of depriving them of their only source of water supply in the area.
The residents are accusing the MP of filling parts of the only stream in the community with rubbish in preparation for the construction of a filling station; contaminating the water body that supplies the community and its surrounding villages.
They have also accused Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim of acquiring parts of the land illegally from one Solomon Tetteh a planning officer at the Ga south municipal assembly and an indigene of Amamorley.
An elder of the community Nii Oshipi Ishmael Addo who spoke to rawgist.com expressed worry over how the act has impacted residents adversely.
The assemblyman for Asofa electoral area Hon. Kofi Appiah Kumi also tells rawgist.com efforts to get the MP to stop the development have proved futile.
