A Communications member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has questioned the president’s commitment in fulfilling his campaign promises to the Ghanaian people considering a number of failed ones just one year in office.
He reminded the President of his promise in August last year to establish 51 factories under One-District-One-Factory programme by the end of 2017 which has become a mirage.
Even though a sod-cutting ceremony took place for the Ekumfi Pineapple Factory in the Central Region, he claimed no development has taken place allowing the area to be overgrown by weeds with snakes and grasscutters taking the opportunity to live in the place earmarked for the project.
“He promised to establish 51 factories under the one district one factory when he cut the sod for work to begin at Ekumfi…go there today and see, the place has been overgrown with weeds and snakes, grasscutters and other reptiles are having a field day”, he disclosed on Adom TV.
According to him, no single well has been sunk in the Northern Sector of the country in fulfillment of the one village one dam saying the presidency advanced a flimsy explanation that dams are not constructed in the rainy season.
“We should not take this government serious because they say and do not fulfill it. Where is the one million dollars for each constituency? What is the dollar rate now? Drivers are crying over increasing fuel prices. Today it is even difficult to ordinary charcoal ”, He claimed.
Mr Gyamfi wants the president to walk his talk and stop praising itself when it has failed to invest in capital projects to inure to the benefit of Ghanaians when under one year it has borrowed more in one year than the previous government.
“Show some sensitivity to Ghanaians and stop lying to them”, he advised.
