Mr Samed Akalilu, the Ashanti Regional Communications Officer for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated members of his outfit are rock-solid behind the party as it readies for the upcoming campaign launch and the December 7th general elections.
According to him, apart from one of them who recently moved on other members were resolutely convinced in working to rake in the one million votes the party has targeted to get in Ashanti Region.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper over the weekend, Mr Akalilu rubbished claims the communication outfit had been weakened by the departure of one of its vociferous and intelligent member, Awal Mohammed.
The latter in a recent shocking move crossed carpet to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), claiming the NPP presented a better policy towards the liberation of the often marginalized people in the Zongo Communities.
REBUTTAL:
But in a strongly worded rebuttal, the Regional Communications Officer insisted Awal Mohammed crossed carpet because of his belly.
According to him, the very claims the former member alluded to when he threatened to leave the NDC outfit was worse felt in the NPP.
‘’My brother to tell you the truth the NPP is the most under-resourced political party and its communication members are worse off’’, Mr Akalilu posited strongly.
He disclosed the NPP scarcely resourced its communicators and at times the members complain bitterly to the NDC members anytime they met for radio discussions.
CONFIDENCE:
Sounding confident, the Regional officer intimated the resolve of the communication members to re-double their efforts in ensuring the party’s transformational plan is heard across the region.
He revealed, ‘the team is currently retooling to reach the hinterlands in the Ashanti Region confident of realizing our target which is to win every household for John Mahama’
With the Ashanti Regional Campaign launch coming off next weekend, the Regional Officer stressed the determination by the team to work vigorously to achieve the one million votes in Ashanti.
‘’We are zooming straight into action immediately the campaign is launched next week Saturday and with our efforts oiled by the party campaign team we are poised to reach every door in the Region with the NDC message’’, Mr Akalilu intimated.
