YFM’s Joel Orleans last Saturday dedicated a very special edition of his Campus express programme to the 147 students who were murdered at the Garissa University in Kenya.
The Kenyan students were murdered by gunmen suspected to belong to the terrorist group; Al-Shabab.
Last Saturday’s edition of the show which was aired live from the silver Lounge, Accra Mall took an emotional turn when the host Joel was joined on the programme by students of about 20 universities in Ghana to discuss the tragedy and observe a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the atrocity. Some of the students read poems and paid glowing tributes to the dead.
The show was originally scheduled as part of the #EasterInAccra campaign but the warm-hearted host was compelled to honor the memory of the young men and women who lost their lives. The show also discussed security on the various tertiary campuses in the face of the terrorist attack.
The discussion was carried on to social media where several people contributed to the emotional discussions with hashtags such as #PrayForKenya and #YCEcares
Join in on the discussion with the YCE family on @YCampusExpress and @JoelOrleans, and listen this Saturday from 2-5pm for more.
