Stop the lawlessness-Rev. Prof. Martey charges President

The former moderator of the Presbyterian church, Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey has tasked the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to work to  halt the creeping lawlessness in the country.

According to him, nobody will feel safe to do any form of business if the current vigilanteism that is being displayed by groups liked to the ruling party was allowed to fester.

Addressing the management, staff and graduands at the second matriculation ceremony of the Apostolic University College in Kumasi, the respected clergyman bemoaned the spate at which violence was being used as a means for one to achieve results.

He, therefore, charged the president and the security agencies to work to stem the unfortunate turn of events in the country.

LEADERSHIP:
Speaking about leadership, Prof Martey said the president should lead the way by punishing his own people.
This, he said would serve as an example to others who may be seeking to use violence or lawlessness to lay claim to their interests.

According to the clergyman, the mandate given to the president during the recent elections indicated the confidence the people had in him to stem corruption and violence.

He, therefore, urged the president to deal with all manner of corruption and semblance of violence so as to leave a better legacy after his tenure.

GRADUATING STUDENTS:
Admonishing the graduands at the ceremony, Prof Martey tasked them to be role models of the Apostolic University everywhere they found themselves.

This, he intimated would help to attract more people to the school.

On his part, Professor Philip Owiredu Yeboah, President of the School charged the graduating students to explore the world with the knowledge they had attained from the College.

According to him, one becomes fulfilled when he uses the skills and talents he has acquired to achieve something for himself and the society.
