The incumbent Member of Parliament for the Manhyia-North Constituency, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah has appealed to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to allow space for the president-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa
Akufo-Addo to painstakingly select his ministers to form the next government.
According to the legislator, it was better for the president-elect to decide on who was best fit for whatever position is up for filling than the on-going moves by some party people to stampede the process.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper in Kumasi moments after visiting the Faith Gospel Church to offer thanks to God for a resounding victory at the polls recently, Hon Amankwah pushed off attempts by some party people to use unconventional lobbying to pressurize the president-elect in selecting their favorites.
‘’It is worrying for some people to think the president-elect does not know which people could best help him prosecute the change agenda he promised during the electioneering’’ Hon Amankwah wondered.
PATIENCE:
The Manhyia-North MP asked party people to exercise bouts of patience, noting it was not easy selecting the best from a pool of great minds in the NPP party to form the next government.
According to him, Nana Addo as a veteran politician knew exactly the crop of people who could help him get his policies across and was only bidding his time to consult on how best to deploy them into government business.
‘’Having been in politics for about 40years now there was no need to seek to put pressure on somebody like Nana Addo who knows the terrain of governance well and was only bent on achieving remarkable results in his first term of office’’, Hon Amankwah posited.
He, therefore, rallied party folks to offer prayers and support to the president-elect so as to enable him come up with the best of persons fit for the positions of government.
PLOT:
In a startling revelation, Hon Amankwah said the out-going National Democratic Congress (NDC) have hatched a plot to badmouth the policies and programs of the incoming NPP administration.
According to him, the NDC was scheming to rubbish every policy drawn up by the NPP to carry out its transformational agenda for the country in 2017.
‘’Let every party member be vigilant and back our president-elect with prayers because the out-going NDC government plans to frustrate us every step of the way by rubbishing the policies we want to unleash to help build a robust economy’’, the Manhyia-North MP disclosed.
Flanked by party supporters and family, Hon Amankwah noted, ‘rather than adding more pressure to our leader on the selection of ministers who should serve in his government let us pray that he discovers the best among us who can help him prosecute a positive change’.
