The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications Services Division, MTN-Ghana, Mrs Georgina Asare Fiagbenu has urged the company’s vendors to stop selling pre-activated or pre-registered sim cards people.
She also charged MTN agents across the country to desist from doing same.
This, she said would stop the perpetuation of crime by some unscrupulous people through the use of unregistered sim cards.
Addressing concerns raised by the people of Agogo in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti region during a community forum at the Presbyterian Nursing and Midwifery Training School , Mrs Fiagbenu assured residents of the company’s resolve to help check cyber, sim and mobile money fraud cases.

The head of Corporate Communications Services mentioned plans by MTN to inject more capital into the three pronged social responsibility projects in the region.
This, she said is aside the 32.2 million cedis the company had sunk into projects in the area of education, health and social empowerment.
She also disclosed plans by the company to improve its network services.
An amount of 175million dollars would be expended in this wise and pledged to ensure customers get optimum results from their patronage of MTN products and services.

Commending MTN for its continued support to the people of Agogo, Nana Kwame Nti, Krontihene of Agogo traditional council thanked them for extending network services to all areas within the district.
According to him, the mobile money platform coupled with other marketing services had allowed residents to conduct business with ease.
Traders and businessmen, he noted do not have to carry huge sums on their business trips and this he said had increased convenience.
He, however, tasked MTN officials to help some of communities such as Pataban and Mankara to get better network services since some calls drop easily in those areas.
