Stop Shielding Bawumia of Blame—NPP Member “Punches” Adwoa Safo.

Mr. Nicholas Donkor, a Ghanaian data analyst based in the USA has urged the former MP for Dome Kwabenya, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo to be careful not to seek to demonize some party leaders and members with her outbursts.

He noted that while targeting others for blame in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Adwoa Safo has sought to shield Dr Bawumia who recorded low votes.

Mr. Donkor said in the Presidential elections at Dome Kwabenya, President Mahama recorded 51, 072 with Dr Bawumia trailing with a little over 48, 000 votes.

“Everything shows that in Dome Kwabenya our presidential candidate performed poorly and so to single out the parliamentary candidates for blame is just the display of dishonesty”, Mr. Donkor stressed

Background:
Speaking to this reporter from his base, Mr. Donkor observed that in the latest interviews of the former MP, she has had cause to attack Prof. Mike Ocquaye and his son Michael Oquaye Jnr for working against the fortunes of the party in the 2024 general elections at Dome Kwabenya.

More worryingly, Mr Donkor noted was the attempt by the former female legislator to attack the integrity of Prof Mike Ocquaye, a man who has been tasked to investigate and review issues that may have occasioned the NPP’s defeat in the last general elections.

“It is surprising that while Hon Adwoa Safo seeks to attack and blame the Ocquaye’s for doing things that did not allow the party to win at Dome Kwabenya, she hurriedly paints the picture that the party’s presidential candidate cannot be blamed for the party’s defeat in the area and the country as a whole”, Mr. Donkor wondered.

Re-organisation:
Mr. Donkor popularly known in the Juaben Constituency as “Wofa Nico” said it was important that every single member of the NPP puts their support behind the Prof Mike Ocquaye Committee to work to unravel the issues that caused the party’s defeat.

This, he said would help the party to know where it fell short and work on remedial measures to prevent same from happening in subsequent elections in Ghana 🇬🇭.

He noted that many in the party have issues they could raise and discuss on radio or on tv but they have decided to appear before the committee and tell it it to them so they can collectively work to address same.

“I know there are people in all the 247 constituencies of the party who have issues with how the party treated them and organised its activities but they’ve all decided to hold back and tell it to the committee so the party could heal itself by addressing the matters ahead of the next internal elections of the party”, Mr. Donkor stated.

Choices:
The NPP member said it was important that the party works to address all of its internal issues before the opening of nominations for people to fill positions from polling station to national levels.

He noted that when the base of the party is well oiled and internal elections are conducted freely, the party would be appealing to Ghanaians again.

Mr. Donkor however urged all persons who have ambitions to lead the party to conduct themselves and their activities in good spirits and wait for the official opening of nominations for interested persons to contest for positions that would be at at stake.

“I’ll take this opportunity to urge all persons who have ambitions to lead the party to show it now but on a quiet manner so that they can assert themselves very well when nominations are opened for people to contest for positions from the polling station to national levels as well as the flag-bearer elections later next year”, Mr. Donkor stressed.
