Member of Parliament for Suame, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is confident of overwhelming support for him to retain his parliamentary seat.
The MP who is also Minority leader told Ultimate FM morning show host Prince Minkah many of the NPP executives in the constituency have already endorsed him ahead of the party’s primaries.
“If a blind man wants to cast a stone his foot is on a pebble”, he said adding that “there is a whole groundswell of support for me in the constituency”.
He advised the NPP to avoid washing their dirty linen in public since the NPP needs votes outside the party’s membership to win the forthcoming national elections. “Our own strengths alone cannot win us the votes, we need some others hence the need to avoid squables”, he said whiles admitting that “there are differences in opinions in the constituency but it is not translating into a fight”.
He was however not excited about some people including a lawyer who belittled his achievements in parliament and emphasized that such people do not understand the workings of parliament.
“The lawyer who compared me to Hawa Yakubu is an ignoramus and doesn’t know the workings of parliament. What was the performance of Hawa Yakubu in parliament? Go check the Hansard, the records are there”, he fired.
