A unit committee member at Amakom; McJulius Agyekum has called on Ghanaians to support the President’s efforts towards making Ghana the cleanest city in Africa by ensuring proper waste disposal and avoiding the habit of littering.
He spoke to rawgist.com on the sidelines of a clean-up exercise organized by the unit committee, Chiefs and people of Amakom towards the country’s Independence Day celebration.
He explained that, the whole Ghana will have her focus on Kumasi especially Amakom where the ceremony will be commemorated hence the onus of ensuring hygiene of the area. He also added that the clean-up exercise is their meagre show of support for the leadership and vision of President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
“Our communities will be nice and safe to live in if we avoid littering and ensure proper disposal of waste” he stressed saying doing so will keep many diseases at bay.
Ghana will be marking the 63rd anniversary of her independence on Friday 6th March, 2020 at the Baba Yara Stadium at Amakom in Kumasi.
