Ghana News-The Ashanti Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Adomako has charged district, regional as well as national officers at the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to take inventory of things at their stalls to ensure it is devoid of expiry products.
Speaking to this reporter Thursday Morning, Mr Adomako said the recent expired goods at the NADMO office in the Upper West Region calls for such a scrutiny to be done.
This inventory taking, he noted will spare NADMO from further distributing items that may have outlived its purpose and duration.
Recounting a shock he received Thursday morning, Mr Adomako said some items at a NADMO store in the Bosomtwi district showed some expired products too.
‘’I suspect something foul at play and I believe it is time to carry out a total overhaul of items at all NADMO offices countrywide so that we rid them of expired products’’, Mr Adomako posited passionately.
EMBARRASMENT:
The regional organizer noted the emergence of expired products at NADMO offices is not only a disgrace of the outfit but on the entire Nation.
He wondered why officials posted at these offices would not scrutinize items at their disposal periodically to check the state they are in.
Mr Adomako sounding livid expressed worry about the attitude and apathetic nature of some state actors.
He urged NPP branch, constituency and regional organizers across the country to carry out routine visits to NADMO offices to ascertain the state of items at the stores.
‘’My brother it is almost unthinkable for officers at the NADMO offices to sit and refuse to carry out periodic checks on items they have in stock but will naively distribute same to people in distressing times when the items are expired’’, the organizer tearfully noted.
PUNITIVE MEASURES:
Mr Adomako has called on the NADMO national office to carry out investigations into the cases coming out of their district and regional offices.
The issue of expired products, the Ashanti Organizer mentioned is a serious one which needed an urgent attention.
According to him, the consumption of expired food items and products has dire consequences on the health of citizens.
Some of these accidents arising out of the consumption of expired products, Mr Adomako noted can be fatal and needed a proactive approach by NADMO to nip the incidences in the bud.
‘’I urge NADMO officials at the National level to commission investigations into the issue currently brewing at their stalls so that if it is the work of saboteurs we can quickly arrest and prosecute them for this devilish agenda’’, Francois forcefully indicated.
