Taylor: Chelsea gave me room with no light

taylorBerekum Chelsea midfielder Charles Taylor has alleged he was subjected to inhuman treatment after suffering from a career-threatening injury.

The 33-year-old claimed the Blues have not paid his salaries over a year after successfully undergoing a surgery, admitting that it is the worse experience throughout his career.

“They [Chelsea] have treated me badly after my surgery. As a top-flight side, I was not expecting such maltreatment from them,” Taylor told Cape Coast-based ATL Radio. “I was called to join the team at a point but the reception was very horrible and disgusting.”

He claimed: “They gave me a room without electricity and water; I had to walk to a nearby tap to fetch water before I can prepare for training

“I’ve not been paid for one and a half years [18 months], they don’t even call to ask me how my condition is but claim I’m still one of their players but a premier league club must not treat a player like this no matter the circumstances.”

Taylor admitted he will no longer play for the Berekum-based club as he is preparing his documents to seek a floating status from the Ghana Football Association.

“I don’t believe I will don their [Chelsea] jersey again, I’m going to seek for a floating player status from the Player Status Committee and then join any club which can meet my expectations.”

Taylor won the CAF Champions League and Super Cup with Hearts of Oak and played 16 times for Ghana, scoring two goals.
