Investigations by rawgist.com has revealed that more lunatics and beggars have invaded the Techiman market.
These lunatics and beggars hitherto found loitering around Nkoranza, Wenchi, Kintampo, Atebubu, Akomadan and even Sunyani the regional capital have all relocated to Techiman for reasons best known to them.
When rawgist.com visited Nkoranza, Wenchi, Kintampo, Atebubu, Akomadan and Sunyani, residents confirmed the reduction of beggars and lunatics in the area.
Drivers who also ply the various routes between Techiman and the named areas confirmed the story too.
A taxi driver popularly known as Kalusher who plies Techiman to sunyani said he has witnessed the relocation of two mad people from the regional capital to the Techiman market.
Some businesswomen confirmed the story and said most of them were very friendly and jovial but they were not able to state the reason why most of them in the region have resorted to staying in the Techiman Municipal capital.
The Techiman Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Oppong Amponsah told rawgist.com his outfit is aware of the challenge and is seriously working hard to get rid of the lunatics and beggars who have recently invaded the market.
He laments that some have occupied places created for pedestrians and even vehicles; a situation he says is hampering free movement.
