Chieftaincy tension is mounting at Kojo Boffour near Yeji in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana rawgist.com has gathered. Chieftaincy disputes which is now vey high in the area is depriving them of development and basic amenities like water, shelter, food etc.
The long standing desputes between the people of Kojo Boffour and the people of Yeji got to its climax when two persons were killed during the Annual Twumuru Youth Association celebration at Yeji on the 26th October 2013.
Since that incident, tensions have gone high and the area is living in perpertual fear of relaliation from the other side of the divide.
rawgist.com can confirm the presence of the police in the area but residents in the area are leaving in fear and panic.
One Mr. Asiedu Johnson who is a resident of the area is calling on the Regional Security Council to act fast to avert any further clashes between the groups.
He says after the killings eleven persons were detained and later given bail and according to some residents the bailed eleven persons are the people causing the fear and panic in the area.
He continues that they are always in town misbehaving, threatening to kill people and disturbing the peace of the area.
He is seriously calling on the security aparatus to rescue the situation before the unforseen happens.
