Test our record and vote NPP-Manhyia North MP

Collins_Owusu_AmankwahThe Member of Parliament for the Manhyia-North Constituency, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah has urged Ghanaians to carefully test the record of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) before casting their ballots in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary polls.

According to him, the NPP from 2001 to 2008 preformed creditably in managing the economy, adding public workers had the luxury of refusing loans they were begged to take from commercial banks across the country.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper during the wedding of Evans Nkum, a journalist with TV3 network, the Manhyia- North Mp stressed the NPP was poised to repeat same work that was done by the Kufuor administration.

He pledged the party’s commitment to ensuring they create more employment opportunities for the youth to either contribute their quota to development or learn a trade to better their lives.

RECORD:
Explaining further, Hon Amankwah pointed to the creation of the Ghana School Feeding Program(GSFP) for public and basic schools across the country.

This initiative, he indicated not only helped to feed pupils in public schools but increased enrolment and the retention of pupils in school.

Other novel inventions such as the free bus for school pupils, free maternal care and delivery for pregnant mothers as well as the setting up of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty(LEAP) program, the MP noted improved the quality of life of Ghanaians.

The National Health Insurance Scheme, Hon Amankwah disclosed was the most significant program introduced by the Kufuor administration, adding this ensured needy, poor and distressed citizens were catered for at a token fee when they visited the hospital.

CHARGE:
The legislator has therefore charged Ghanaians to consciously sieve through the policy interventions of the NPP and the NDC and vote for the party that had citizens at heart.

According to him, the NPP rather than impoverishing the populace chose to invest in these social programs so as to make life bearable for the populace.

But, the legislator slammed the NDC for spearheading a regime of impoverishment where the cost of living in the country as well as price of goods and services were rising by the day.

Hon Amankwah, appealed to the electorate to endorse Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo as president in the upcoming polls so as to enable him and the NPP reverse the trend of hopelessness in the country.
