Reverend Dr Elvis Acheampong, Pastor of Gateway International Christian Church (GICC) is asking the Ghanaian church to intensify efforts in reaching out to the lost for Christ.
The man of God who also heads the Global Outreach Center for the Great Commission, an evangelism focused group which is popularly called ‘’Jesus Revolution’’ said the only thing that excites God is the repentance of sinners.
Speaking to newsmen ahead of a five day house to house evangelism drive in Sunyani, Bishop Elvis said God is not fascinated by the wealth or buildings the church displays on television screens.
God, the US-based leader intimated is moved when his people who are fired up by the Holy Spirit offer themselves as vessels to deliver the message of the gospel to people who have never heard same.
‘’I want to sound a note of caution to the body of Christ in Ghana and elsewhere that we arise from our slumber and march out with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the unreached and the poor in our towns, cities and hinterlands’’, Bishop Elvis passionately stressed.
MISSION:
The US-based Ghanaian Christian leader said that the single most important focus of his organization is to win souls for Christ Jesus.
This mission, he noted guides the Jesus Revolution group to reach out to people wherever they are including the remotest places in the country.
With a mission group of 40 believers, Bishop Elvis stressed the group will be taking Sunyani city for Christ.
Having embarked on a similar evangelism drive late last year in the whole of the Ashanti Region, the charismatic leader emphasized the need for more evangelism by the church of God.
”One of the things that God has asked us to do is not only to eat, sleep or make children, we need to serve the Lord because we have the spiritual responsibility, physical responsibility and professional responsibility to do so”, Bishop Elvis posited.
EVANGELISM COORDINATOR:
Rev. Alice Boateng Sarpong, Evangelism Coordinator for the Jesus Revolution group encouraged the Christian church to refocus its attention on soul winning.
She also stressed that new activities be introduced in the church to keep the newly won souls active at all times.
Rev Alice was upbeat about the success of the Sunyani crusade, noting that the group has prayed ahead of same.
She noted that what the group does at all times is to allow their persons to be used by God since the Holy Spirit is the one who does the conversion of souls.
