The youth of Dagbon are appealing to the Abudu and Andani royal families at the center of the ongoing chieftaincy dispute to allow peace to prevail by softening their stances.
The youth say there is the need for a compromise for the sake of women, children, the aged and the physically challenged especially.
They want the Government, civil society organizations and well – meaning Ghanaian to ensure that all agreements reached by both factions at the committee of eminent Chiefs led by His Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu ll are implemented to the latter without further delay.
“We the youth of Dagbon pledge our support to the outcome reached by the committee of eminent Chiefs”.
The chairman of the youth Jogbo Baako tells rawgist.com’s Dabre Abdul Rauf, “we are appealing to our chiefs, traditional authorities and the the good people of Dagbon to name and shame individuals who have turned themselves into chieftaincy contractors as these people are worsening the already volatile situation due to their selfish interest”.
They also emphasized the need for all rites leading to the enskinment of a new Yaa- Naa be performed.
“In all, we edge that peaceful procedures should be the only way in finding a lasting solution to the long protracted dispute”.
