Not long ago, the internal wrangling and bickering within the NPP nearly turned bloody when it degenerated into fisticuffs at the Asylum Down Headquarters of the party.
Some security guards at the party’s headquarters clashed with a new set of guards who tried to take over their duties but the timely intervention of Police personnel from the Nima Divisional Command helped calm matters.
“When two elephants fight,” indeed “it is the grass that suffers.” This adage sounds akin to the recent happenings in the New Patriotic Party.
But reacting to reports about the relationship between Nana Addo and Alan Kyeremateng, popularly called “Alan Cash”; the Klottey Korle Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Nii Noi Nortey says there are no “acrimonious” dispute between the two.
Nii Noi Nortey stressed that the seeming internal wrangling in the party is just a figment of some people’s imagination.
Speaking in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, the constituency Chairman insisted that “there are no fightings and there are no factions in the NPP. There are internal elections…
“It’s just an internal competition and at the end of the day, one candidate will win. When that candidate wins, we’ll all rally behind that candidate because we’re members of the New Patriotic Party and not members of Alan Kyeremateng or members of Nana Akufo Addo.”
He also stated emphatically that the people causing confusion in the party “are not members of the NPP” and apparently deserve to be treated as “persona non grata” so far as the NPP is concerned.
“The people who go out there and fight…they’re people who are just trying to instigate some issues into the party. We’re not fighting. The NPP is not fighting.
“Nana Akufo Addo and Alan Kyeremateng are as good friends as you know they are,” He stressed.
