General Manager for Samartex Timber and Plywood Company, Mr. Richard Nsenkyire has pointed unstable markets in and outside Ghana as the reason for the collapse of Timber companies in Ghana.noted that timber firms in Ghana
According to him, ‘‘the service industry in the country is growing but the manufacturing industry is registering negative growth which President Mahama describes as a big challenge to the nation’’.
Speaking on Royal fm’s morning show, he noted that ‘‘political instability in various countries affects the timber firms since some of them go to the extent of re-drawing their contracts with our local timber firms’’.
Mr Richard Nsenkyire further expressed his company’s desire to promote the development of the district and adds however that the company has its limitations and can only do so much. He says the company will partner the District Assembly to undertake development projects.
