Two persons have been arrested in Tuobodom for allegedly masterminding Wednesday’s shooting incident in the area.
The two who gave their names as Stephen Amoako and Nana Kwadwo Tano have since been transferred to the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command in Sunyani, to assist with investigations.
The two were arrested at about 4pm on Thursday at a hideout in Tuobodom.
The shooting incident resulted in the death of five people with several others sustaining various degrees of injury.
Though what might have triggered the gunshots still remains unknown some residents attributed it to a longstanding chieftaincy dispute in the area.
Speaking to Citi News, the Divisional Commander of the Techiman Police Command, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Twumasi Ankrah indicated, “with the assistance of our regional command we have been able to arrest two people who we believe masterminded the shooting incident on Wednesday.
“They are in the custody of the Brong Ahafo Regional Command to assist in investigation. We had information from some residents in Tuobodom that they were in a hideout in one of the suburbs here,” he added.
