Ghana News–The Kumasi based national organizer hopeful, Tweneboah Kodua has picked nomination forms to contest for the national organizer position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
With less pomp and pageantry, Dr T.K, as the hopeful is fondly referred to by party faithful picked his form around 1:17 pm on Wednesday, the 9th of May, 2018.
The hopeful despite being threatened by some unknown faces through text messages that he would be beaten when he traveled to pick nomination forms in Accra defied all odds to make his intention clear.
Accompanied by Kwabena Frimpong, campaign coordinator for the Tweneboah Kodua team, the hopeful thanked Madam Agnes Okudjeto, NPP official at the headquarters for spending her lunch time to hand over the nominations forms to him.
Mr Kodua promised to return the forms in due time and assured of a decent campaign ahead of the upcoming national executive polls.
‘’I am committed to conducting a clean campaign ahead of my submission of the forms I picked today and I will ensure I abide by the regulations governing this process’’, Mr Kodua noted.
THREATS:
Speaking to this reporter about the threats he received before heading to Accra, Mr Kodua said a case has been filed at the Technology Police Station in Kumasi by him.
Brandishing a report from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the regional organizer hopeful noted his seriousness to dealing with the threats on his life.
According to him, no one has the right to stop any party member from picking forms when the person qualifies to do so.
NPP, he noted is a party that believes in the rule of law and therefore should never be seen as those who seek to prevent people from exercising their democratic rights.
‘’I was hopeful to carrying out this process without a hitch, however, I was prepared to confront anyone who would have sought to deny me the right to securing or purchasing forms to contest the upcoming polls as national organizer’’, Mr Kodua stated.
CLEAN CAMPAIGN:
Mr Kodua expressed happiness about the opportunity to pick the party’s nomination forms, noting he is serious about his intentions.
The purchase of the forms, the hopeful noted will send strong signals that he is resolved to contest and win the upcoming polls to return power to the grass-root of the party.
Having been sidelined most of the times, Mr Kodua promised to be focused on his message to the grass-root members of the party.
He reiterated his commitment to conducting one of the best issue-based campaign ever by any hopeful, noting that nothing but his competencies will be played up to the delegates of the party.
‘’I am fully aware of the task ahead of me as I contest as national organizer hopeful and I am determined to conduct a clean campaign as I make the grass-root base of the party my priority’’, Dr T.K posited.
