Universe Aid Foundation, an NGO embarked on a massive two-day deworming project in Sekyere East District in the Ashanti Region.
The two-day program which ended Thursday, saw over 2000 children being dewormed of intestinal worms.
Intestinal worms produce a wide range of symptoms including intestinal manifestations (diarrhoea, abdominal pain), general malaise and weakness and also cause chronic intestinal blood loss that result in anaemia.

Over 2000 children in some basic schools across the district were dewormed. Three deprived communities in the District namely Nkwakwanua, Ntumkumso and Senchi benefited from this Deworming Project.
