US Based NGO Pledges To Support KATH’s Oncology Department With GhC 50, 000.00.
Leader and Officials from the USA 🇺🇸 based Unlimited Cancer Care International (UCCI), a non-governmental and non-profit organization whose focus is to help deal with all forms of cancers on Monday pledged to support the Heal KATH Project with GHC 50, 000.00, requesting that same should be used to support care of patients at the Oncology Department.
The leader of UCCI, Agivert Jackson speaking during a courtesy call on the hospital’s management said her outfit had learnt about the Heal KATH project.
The team’s pledge, she stated, was in support of the project aimed at renovating KATH and supporting its directorates to deliver quality care for patients.
“We’ve been following the Heal KATH project which is a laudable one and so our presence here is to show support to same and in particular help the hospital deal with all challenges it is faced with especially patients at the Oncology Department who are battling with all kinds of cancers”, the leader stated.
Commitment:
Mrs Agivert Jackson, wife of the celebrated former sports journalist and now lawyer, Listowell Yesu Bukarson addressing the media after a tour of the Breast Care and Oncology Departments said that her organization was bent on supporting KATH to deal with issues affecting patients who have various kinds of cancers.
She noted that the UCCI was committed to getting recliners and other equipment that would aid the treatment and care for patients at the Department.
A member of the UCCI team, Dr Zakhiya Buchman said the team was bent in returning to the United States of America and ship some equipment to support KATH so they could handle people with cancers very well.
“So far with been to Cape Coast and Ada where we screened people for cancers especially breast cancers and we are determined to tour other areas to educate and sensitise people about the need to report issues they find on the breast as well as other parts of the body early to the hospital”, Dr Buchman intimated.

The Director of Administration at KATH, Mr Fred Effah-Yeboah thanked the UCCI team for their generosity.
He also commended them for promising to assist with recliners and other forms of support to patients at the Oncology Department.
Fred Effah-Yeboah noted that such assistance and support from public spirited organisations and individuals were critical to enable KATH deal with the myriad of challenges confronting the facility.
“We are grateful to this UCCI team and we pray that many look to you to learn how to show support to hospital patients so that they help in their care and well-being”, the Director of Administration stated.
