Information gathered by rawgist.com reveals that the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), is set to announce another strike action before the end of the week.
The strike is expected to get government to take a look at their conditions of service which include issues to do with their Book and Research allowances as well.
Already, Medical Doctors, Some nurses and Pharmacists are on a sit down strike demanding better conditions of service.
Government has already expressed it’s decision to consolidate the lecturers’ Book and Research Allowances into a Research fund; an idea the government believes will better boost research among the academia and make judicious use of the money.
