Scores of residents sampled in the Oforikrom constituency in the Ashanti Region have expressed disappointment at the rate of development in the area.
While some blamed the current MP, Madam Elizabeth Agyemang for not pushing enough for development projects others criticized her for not thinking about them.
Mr Yaw Boamah, a barber at Susanso noted the unwillingness of the MP to construct storm drains around his area to stop the perennial floods that is recorded in rainy seasons.
He claimed the MP having assured them of support has relented in getting them the needed help to ensure the flooding around Susanso is curtailed.
According to him, it was time to give a chance for the NDC candidate and Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Jonny Osei Kofi who he acknowledged had lived long with residents to adequately diagnose their problems as well as help to prescribe the solutions.
REASONS FOR CHANGE:
Mrs Adwoa Pinamang, a resident at Kentinkrono who also spoke to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper said the constituency needed an MP like Mr Osei Kofi who could push for infrastructural developments as well as the provision of basic amenities for them.
According to her, she uses the public toilet but could not remember the time any of those around the area was either renovated to suit the numbers frequenting the facility.
Curtis Amoah, an unemployed graduate noted that unlike other constituencies where its MP lobbied to get the youth employment avenues same, however, could not be said about their current MP.
He, however, maintained having lived in the community and taught extensively at the Kwame Nkrumah Science and Technology (KNUST) for long, Mr Osei Kofi could best help the constituency’s youth to get some job opportunities to put their knowledge into use.
BACKGROUND OF CANDIDATE:
Mr Jonny Osei Kofi, a former lecturer at KNUST has also served as a government appointee at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in 2013.
He was subsequently appointed a member of the Sub-Committee on Development Planning at the Assembly.

Mr Osei Kofi is the founder of the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that ensured the setting up of the Center for Disability and Rehabilitation at the KNUST to fight for the welfare of people with disability.
