We need incorruptible leaders-Rev. Ransford Obeng

ransford-obengThe Founder and General Overseer of the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), a charismatic church in Kumasi, Reverend Ransford Obeng says the country needed incorruptible leaders to occupy offices in both government and outside government.

According to him, leaders bear so much influence such that many saw them as role models and therefore anyone chosen to be a leader should be someone with immense integrity.

Speaking at a media encounter to herald a three day spiritual encounter with Eastwood Anaba, a known revivalist from the 9th to the 11th of October, 2016, Rev Obeng disclosed Ghana needed men of impeccable character to steer it through turbulent times.

Mincing no words, he indicated just like any other profession the Christian Community was also battling with people who continue to display acts that are strange to the Christian faith.

EXEMPLARY LIVES:
Admonishing the clergy, Rev Obeng urged ministers of the gospel to live beyond reproach and avoid tendencies that would push them from speaking the truth.

He encouraged Christians who were leaders of institutions, companies and State agencies to live responsible lives so as to portray the values of Christ to the world.

”As elections  draw near you will see many in the country compromising their positions just to attract some few cedis into their pockets but as Christians we should not sell our conscience”, Rev Obeng appealed.

He, however, urged Christians to look into policies that are being promised by the various political parties as they embark on their campaigns.

‘’Examine the policies the political parties are bringing on board and vote for the person  you think can execute the things they are promising ’’, Rev Obeng stressed.

He asked the public to sieve through each of the policies that were being bandied about by party heads so as to ensure they vote for a credible candidate who can manage the economy better.

REMEDY FOR CORRUPTION
Proposing the remedy for the canker of corruption and bribery, Rev Obeng called on appointing authorities to conduct background investigations into the lives of personalities who they would want to select as leaders.

According to him, such rigorous and elaborate checks could help stop the continuous breeding of corrupt people in the society.

The rate of corruption, he stated was becoming worrying and very soon people would see corruption as a normal thing.

But, in a strong word of caution, Rev Obeng warned against the stealing of State resources, stressing God would surely punish anyone who embarks on such act.
