An overwhelming section of residents randomly interviewed by Peace FM correspondent Oscar Adawu Dadzie in Assin South Constituency have given a strong indication of their resolve to vote massively for the incumbent Member of Parliament Hon Rev John Ntim Fordjour for a renewed term of Office.
Constituents who were interviewed randomly by Peace FM correspondent Oscar Adawu Dadzie from 20 electoral areas out of the 25 electoral areas affirmed that the performance of the first term Member of Parliament for Assin South Hon Rev John Ntim Fordjour within these past 2 and a half years in Parliament, has been creditable for which they expressed their resolve to retain him on the seat to continue the many transformational development projects he has initiated since assumption of office in January 2017.
Citing some of the projects undertaken by Hon Ntim Fordjour in various communities in Assin South, constituents mentioned ongoing bitumen surfacing of Adubiase-Homaho Road, Nyankumase Ahenkro-Jakai-Abease Road, Nyamebebu-Kruwa road, as well as the recently awarded bitumen surfacing and upgrade of Assin Manso-Ochiso-Haasowodze road together with bitumen surfacing of Nsuta town roads. Reference was also made to the creation of jobs provided by the Member of Parliament which includes 450 jobs in Afforestation, 350 jobs in various modules of YEA, 375 NABCo jobs, 310 cocoa pollination and pruning jobs among others. Other projects acknowledged by he constituents include the establishment of 12 ICT centers fully equipped with internet, tertiary bursary for 500 students, free WASSCE remedial classes, free ICT vacation classes, free eye screening and surgery for constituents, furniture for basic schools and 8 telecommunication masts. Some constituents also cited the MP’s school feeding program for some deprived schools as well as apprenticeship and artisan support and donation of sewing machines and hair dryers for artisans upon completion of apprenticeship as the reason why they will retain Hon Ntim Fordjour as MP for Assin South.
The purpose of this follow up survey was to ascertain the findings of recent research published by the Political Science Department of University of Ghana, Legon, which claimed among other things that more than 50% of current MPs in the 7th Parliament of Ghana may be voted out by their constituents given their unsatisfactory performance within the period.
