We’ll not sack NDC caterers from school feeding program-NPP Women’s organizer

The Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ama Ampomah says the party will not sack caterers who were known to be members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) from the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP).

This, she said was because caterers were first Ghanaians before their political affiliation.

She, therefore, stated  the need for all to be allowed to participate in something meant for Ghanaian women.

She intimated the resolve of the NPP not to carry out similar shameful actions the NDC perpetrated on  NPP caterers when they won power in 2009, adding the NPP was ‘different’ and ‘decent’.

Mrs Ampomah, however, intimated that first considerations on allocation of contracts will be given to NPP women while other  women are considered afterwards.

MENTALITY:
According to the women’s organiser, the very notion that succeeding governments should be in charge of everything is a backward mentality.  She stressed that every citizen in the country reserved the right to participate in every program, project and intiative carried out by government.

Mrs Ampomah insisted all in the country no matter their political affiliation deserved to have equal opportunities in every project that is embarked on by government.

“The era where the incumbent party crowded every other member of the society out of business was over”, the women’s organiser posited.

SUPERVISION:
On supervision of the Ghana School Feeding Program, Mrs Ampomah noted the need for more people to be employed to monitor the way food is prepared for the kids at school.

She called for the preparation of quality foods for the kids, adding that would ensure children derived the necessary nutrients from the foods to aid in their education.

Mrs Ampomah called for expansion of the program so as to ensure more school children were fed to motivate them to stay in school.

“I will call for expansion of the program so that more kids could be enticed to enroll in school while those who get to school are also motivated to stay in school”, Nana Ama posited.
