The Ashanti Regional Secretary for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Raymond Tandoh says the party intends to resource its communication outfit very soon.
This, he noted was to make the outfit vibrant in its outreach and outdoor programs across the Ashanti Region.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper last Tuesday, Mr Tandoh rubbished claims it was starving the outfit of funds.
He noted resources were yet to be released from the national headquarters for such outdoor activities.
However, he stressed plans were far advanced for resources to be forwarded to the region so as to enable it to conduct outreach programs they have designed.
BACKGROUND:
Last Monday, during a radio discussion program on Silver 91.1 Fm, a new but popular radio station in Kumasi, Godwin Bobobee, a member of the NDC communication team dropped his outfit was scarcely resourced.
He also alleged funds that were to enable them conduct outreach programs were being used by party executives for their personal nourishment.
He claimed some executives have now become huge alcohol consumers with others chasing after small girls in the metropolis.
Mr Samed Akalilu, the Ashanti Regional Communications Officer speaking on Hello Fm, an affiliate of the Despite Group of Companies noted his outfit’s difficulty in assessing resources for grass-root work.
WAY FORWARD:
But, in sharp rebuttal, Mr Tandoh said the region is yet to take hold of resources from the party’s headquarters.
According to him, the Ashanti Region had been promised funds for the upkeep of its wings, adding both the youth and communication offices will not be left out.
He therefore, pleaded with party folks especially the aggrieved communication group to calm down as they wait for the release of funds.
Mr Tandoh revealed plans by the executive to partner the wing as they strategize to reach the communities especially those in the hinterlands with the message of the NDC.
