Winners 98.5 FM turns heads in BA With the proliferation of radio stations in the Brong Ahafo region, it’s difficult for individual stations to make any significant difference to the status quo.
It’s even more difficult when the radio station is not situated in the regional capital. One radio station, Winners FM, thought to be “small” is however suddenly turning heads within the Brong Ahafo region. The station, situated in Techiman started transmission approximately two years ago and was given a political label; a situation which affected the fortunes of the station initially. 98.5MHz a few weeks after the introduction of a new management has already began to draw attention with its Music Fiesta programme, special Health Project as well as a shift from partisan politics to powering relevant developmental issues of Techiman and the region at large.
Experienced Broadcast journalist Bernard Buachi who is now General Manager of the station tells rawgist.com “the people of Techiman have suffered poor quality radio programming for too long a time and should expect world-class entertainment from the relatively young station which is set out to make a difference”. Rawgist.com can confirm the station is owned by deputy Education Minister in charge of Pre-tertiary Education, Hon. Alex Kyeremeh.
