Woes of NPP deepen in Kwesimintim constituency over planned sabotage of their MP

NPPExecutives of the New Patriotic Party in the Kwesimintsim constituency say they will resist any attempts to subvert the party’s constitution.

In a letter to the national hierarchy of the party, the Kwesimintsim constituency executives expressed the cause of their anger saying; “We are at loss as to why the Vetting and National Appeals Committee should disqualify a candidate and the candidate will go against the party’s decision to go to court while our party look unconcerned for party activities in the Constituency to become standstill”.

They threaten to “throw away the verdict of the vetting and National Appeals committee” if “we do not hear of any move to allow acclamation to go on for us to officially unveil our parliamentary candidate”.

The Chairman,

The National Executive Committee,

New Patriotic Party,

Accra.

Concerned Polling Station Executives,

Kwesimintsim Constituency,

Kwesimintsim, Takoradi.

Dear Sir,

LET OUR CONSTITUENCY WORK

We wish to petition your office over the issues in Kwesimintsim Constituency which is having a lot of negative effects on our party activities in the Constituency.

It can be recalled that during the parliamentary primaries, many aspirants were disqualified from contesting in the primaries and they accepted and respected the decision of the Vetting and National Appeals Committee without any qualms or legal action against the party.

This is because Article 3D (Viii) clearly frowns on party member taken a legal action against the party. We are at loss why the party is not coming out boldly to address this issue for us to go on with our party activities with peace and togetherness. Why is our Constituency being treated differently as compared to others?

Our seat is very dear to us as party faithful and we will not relent on our efforts to lose it to the NDC. What we know for now is that only one candidate is eligible to stand in to be elected as our parliamentary candidate in 2016 according to our party’s structures and the Constitution we swear an oath to protect and project as party member of the party as it is clearly stated in Article 3D of our dear party’s constitution.

We are by this sounding a caution to the party hierarchy that we will vehemently resist any attempt to subvert the Constitution of our party by throwing away the verdict of the Vetting and National Appeals Committee.

By this, we are giving the party a deadline of the end of February if we do not hear of any move to allow acclamation to go on for us to officially unveil our parliamentary candidate, we will suspend all Party activities in the Constituency and make sure that no party activities go on in the Constituency till our issue is addressed.

We are at loss as to why the Vetting and National Appeals Committee should disqualified a candidate and the candidate will go against the party’s decision to go to court while our party look unconcerned for party activities in the Constituency to become standstill.

We are sick and tired of the party being in opposition so we want to work extra hard to see our party come back to power.

We cannot allow anyone’s personal interest supersede that of the party. We are calling on the party as a matter of urgency schedule a date for our acclamation to go on for serious party business to go on in the Constituency.

There is no time on our side as November is just around the corner.

We hope and pray that our humble petition will meet your kindest consideration.

We rely on your exceptional cooperation.

Thank you
Yours faithfully
