The Bosome Freho Police is on the heels of a 27 year-old woman suspected to have poured hot water on a 4 year-old boy scalding him seriously.
Ama Theresa (the suspect) lives in the same house as the victim and his grandparent at Bobiam in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti region.
The mother of the victim narrates that the incident occurred about three weeks ago when the victim was playing with suspect’s children. The suspect ordered them to stop since they were disturbing her sleep; an instruction that fell on deaf ears. The suspect came out later and doused 4 year-old Atta Owusu with hot water.
She says the victim upon realizing the harm caused, attempted to use local remedies to treat the victim. Realizing the local remedies were not working, the suspect rushed the boy to the Bosome Freho District Hospital at Asiwa for treatment where she is reported to have lied that the boy got burnt whiles playing in the kitchen.
Mother of the boy who was called with the news reported the matter to the Police. However, Ama Theresa and her two children were nowhere to be found when the Police came in.
The District Chief Inspector; Benjamin Akotey Azigly confirmed the story and called on the public to volunteer information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect.
