Former Deputy Ashanti regional minister Joseph Yammin has advised Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson and others involved in the organisation of the famed “dumsor must stop” vigil to start planning a “dumsor thanksgiving vigil” as well.
“Since their vigil has no political undertones as they say but rather for the common good, it will only be fair to also organize a thanksgiving event once the President solves the dumsor situation”.
Joseph Yammin who was speaking as a panelist on the Ultimate Morning show on Kumasi based Ultimate FM said the President has taken a lot of steps towards solving dumsor and was very sure dumsor will soon be history.
He revealed that several power plants are off and are being upgraded to produce more power once they return on stream.
He cautioned against trying to score political points from what has become a national crisis and emphasized that dumsor will not be an electioneering issue for the 2016 general elections.
The “dumsor must stop” vigil being championed by rapper, Sarkodie and actress Yvonne Nelson is slated for Saturday May 16, 2015 to “put pressure on the government to find solutions to the power crisis which is affecting businesses and households”.
