Brogya Genfi Wednesday exhibited his political maturity by rising to another level within the ruling National Democratic Congress.
Armani, as he is popularly known, trashed his contender Anthony Kwaku Boahen 83 votes to 50 to emerge new Ashanti regional NDC youth Organiser.
Brogya Genfi, prior to his elevation was Suame NDC Propaganda Secretary. He has also been an assistant to Deputy Ashanti regional Minister, Joseph Yammin since 2004 after which he became his campaign manager during Joseph’s quest for a parliamentary seat. He remains the Deputy Minister’s special assistant till date.
The new Ashanti NDC youth organizer tells rawgist.com it has been a long walk to victory, recalling how he had lost to the incumbent youth organizer in 2009. He says it has taken lot of hard work and collaboration with the youth of the region to reach his current position.
Largely considered “Yammin’s boy”, Brogya Genfi also extended his gratitude to the Deputy Ashanti regional Minister Joseph Yammin for his immense support towards this victory and expressed the excitement to work side by side to ensure the NDC obtains over one million votes in the region come 2016.
He promised to also breathe fresh life into the NDC’s mantra of attaining 10 parliamentary seats in the Ashanti region in the forthcoming General Elections whilst at the same time promising the youth of the region an “exciting regime for the youth”.
